Yesterday we went to visit two villages on the outskirts of Phnom Penh that survive by scavenging from Phnom Penh Dump. The village was extremely poor, but the people were full of love and welcomed us into their homes to see their families and to share some of their difficulties.
Some of the Elim staff provided basic first aid and some looked after a little children's time, which included singing, storytime and colouring activities. Afterwards, fruit was distributed to the children.
The rest of the day was very busy. We spent a couple of hours at CFC and then went met with some of the Elim youth. Had some very nice fried mushrooms, that Jill suffered severely from this morning!!!
Today, we went to the international church. Jill led worship and Jonny did the powerpoint. There was a lunch after church because one of the elders was leaving. So, being poor missionary-types(?????!!!!!), we filled our boots and made the most of it. Probably won't need to eat again until Wednesday...
