Today Katy met the gang at CfC. Jill spent some time revising Khmer verbs and Katy and Jonny led some team games. The early morning was very hot, but it bucketed in the afternoon, so our plan to show Katy around the sights of Phnom Penh was hampered a little.
This evening, we spent time at Cafe Eden. The staff that will work there moved in today, so we had a house warming party, with donuts, music, and a lot of laughing.
Jill's attempts to communicate with those she meets are relentless and the locals are getting their kicks out of her multiple pronunciation errors. She, however, is not to be deterred, and this evening, speaking to a boy she met, she was translated by our friend as saying "I am married already, but my husband says he does not love me", when she meant to say "I am married already, so my husband says I must not love anyone else". She claims that she was trying to ensure that this young man was not making romantic advances! But, I'm not sure!!!!!
