DT Week - Jill's week

Jill's week began well. The prospect of a different routine and the possibilities of new challenges and experiences, were welcomed.
Even after the first busy day of challenges, she remained positive. The climbing challenge on Wednesday seemed like an adventure, after all.
However, as team member dedicated to carrying the equipment, Jill's enthusiasm began to wane. She'd forgotten that, as big and strong of a girl as she looks, her upper body strength is far from impressive.
This made rock climbing quite a challenge. In the photograph below is Jill on the mountain's edge. She'd been in this position for quite some time when this photo was taken. There was nothing for her feet to step onto and those Northern Irish arms just weren't sturdy enough to pull her body up to the next position. She did eventually, with a lot of team encouragement make it the top, and them had the pleasure of abseiling back to the bottom again. Enthusiasm, by this stage, at a low point!
Next came the camping. As team navigator, Jill performed her task admirably and walked with vigour throughout the expedition. However, the camping was not at all pleasurable. Her back was sore and the cold had got right into her bones. She put on all the clothes that she had available and drank copious cups of coffee (counter-productive because it meant frequent trips out from behind this wall to the wind and the wilds for toilet breaks), but to no avail. At this point, she considered resuming her position at R.S. teacher at D.H.S.!!
By the final day, Jill really couldn't have cared less about D.T. week. She just wanted the whole thing to be over. However, the team had one last challenge - to sail across the dock in their homemade boat. Below is Jill after the challenge was complete. The boat had begun to sink and Jill fell out. As you can imagine, this final trauma meant that the week ended at the complete opposite emotional end of the spectrum from where it had begun!!!!!
