This weekend, Jill took part in the 6th Llanelli Waterside Half Marathon. The weather was good for the event and, despite the ankle niggle, she felt that she had prepared well for the event. Her personal physio (????!!!!!) taped up her foot pre-race and she set off at a steady pace hoping for a sub 1:40 finish.
At mile 10, her most faithful supporter (Jonny!), supplied her with a pre-peeled banana that gave her a much needed energy boost to end the race. The first female crossed the finish line at a blistering pace of 1 hour 22 minutes and 58 seconds. Jill's pace wasn't quite so blistering, but she was delighted to finish in a time of 1:31:02, 7th place overall in the women's event. Roll on Belfast marathon in May!
Jill and Jonny Hamill moved to Cambodia in May 2011. They are living and working there, serving the locals and providing humanitarian assistance. This blog is a means of communicating with friends and family back home.
