The dads left for home yesterday morning. We'd a lovely meal together on Wednesday night as a final treat. Now, they should have arrived in London. They said they were both looking forward to hot water for washing, as this is a luxury that we, in Cambodia, don't have.
It was hard to say goodbye to our dads. We really enjoyed having them with us and we really appreciate that they now know something more of the reality of our lives here. We're glad, however, that they're returning to look after our wee mums again - and have sent them back lots of hugs!
Yesterday Jonny and I did an informal 'handover' at CfC; passing on information about the last six weeks and talking in general terms about our role there in the immediate future. We then returned home to clean the house. We arrived just in time - before a torrential rainstorm began. Jonny had really wanted the dads to see the weather like this - but it hadn't been too bad during the time they spent with us. It is a good thing they missed out though - because the leaks have begun again!
