So, Christmas day, in Cambodia...
It began early! The official celebrations started at 08.30. This meant that the children were up several hours earlier making themselves look beautiful. Cambodians love getting dressed up for a party!
The official programme involved traditional singing, dancing, drama, nativity play, etc. To be honest, while Jonny and I love Cambodia, traditional cultural performances are not up our street. It was a long, long morning!!
The official programme was followed by lunch. Lunch was noodle soup. After lunchtime, there were organised team games.
In the late afternoon the children were given their Christmas presents. It was great to see the delight on their faces. We took plenty of photos, which we will post on the blog soon.
At that point, Jonny and I took our leave! We returned home and spent several hours on skype with our church and families. At 19.00 we decided to have dinner - rice and chicken. We were in bed by 20.00. It certainly was a different way of doing Christmas!
